General FAQs

How much tissue is needed for the diagnosis?

In general, First Ascent requires a 5mm x 5mm live tissue section. Additional tumor material will be accepted. DNA and RNA sequencing can be performed with non-live tissue samples such as snap frozen material or FFPE tissue. Read more about the process.

When will results be available?

We aim to deliver a personalized, ranked report of the most effective drugs and combinations in 10 days, giving your doctor the clearest possible picture before making a care decision.

How much does it cost to work with First Ascent? Do you work with insurance?

Cost should never stand between a patient and the right treatment. First Ascent will be working to provide funding for patients who are struggling with finances and are unable to pay for our service.

Please contact us <crosslinks to: 7.0 Contact> or call us at 786-746-6722 for service options, pricing, and support.

In addition, several sponsored studies may help reduce or fully cover the cost for eligible participants. Explore the programs/studies <crosslinks to: 1.0 For Patients> [LS1] to learn whether you may qualify.
